Spain: Record price in 2022/23 for peppers from Andalusia

According to calculations by Spanish news service Hortoinfo based on data from the Andalusian Price and Market Observatory, the average bell pepper price grown in the southern Spanish region set a new record last season. The average grower price, taking into account all types and categories, was € 1.23 per kilo. That is € 0.40 per kilo more than in the previous season and € 0.55 per kilo more than ten seasons ago (2013/2014). Grower prices per variety For peppers of the Lamuyo type, the average grower price was € 1.14 per kilo. That is € 0.25 per kilo more than in 2021/2022. California peppers achieved an average of € 1.23 per kilo, which is € 0.44 more than in 2021/2022, and elongated peppers € 1.00 per kilo, which is € 0.21 more than in the previous season.
