The aquaculture sector in Russia experienced a dynamic growth in 2022, with the production of salmon, carp, and valuable seafood seeing significant increases. Salmon farming rose by 47.5% to 22 thousand tons and trout farming by 5.8% to 70.7 thousand tons, contributing to an overall increase in trout and salmon farming by 12.6% to 154 thousand tons. The production of valuable seafood like mollusks and echinoderms surged by 16% to 68 thousand tons, and sturgeon species by 4% to 6.4 thousand tons.
