The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in South Korea is strategically focusing on both the development of high-quality seeds and expanding the overseas market for laver, with a target of exporting laver worth $1 billion. Over the past 12 years, seaweed exports have seen a significant increase, growing by 3.1 times in volume and 6.6 times in value. The ministry plans to enhance marketing efforts, especially in e-commerce channels, participate in international food expos, and support aquaculture farmers to reach the $1 billion export goal.
