The European Union (EU) can now more easily export pork and poultry meat to the Republic of Korea, following high-level engagement between the European Commission and the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA). The Republic of Korea has removed a trade barrier, recognizing the EU's strict regionalization measures to control African swine fever and avian influenza. This could potentially generate over a billion euros in trade. The decision benefits 11 EU countries authorized to export chicken and 14 authorized to export pork.
