South Korea is the second largest market for Vietnamese fruit and vegetable exports, accounting for about 5% of the total market share. The main agricultural products contributing to the export turnover to South Korea are bananas, mangoes, and sesame seeds. Exports of these products have seen significant increases, with bananas up nearly three times, mangoes up 72%, and sesame seeds up 62%. Other products like dragon fruit, watermelon, shiitake mushrooms, durian, pineapple, and almonds have also shown strong growth. To compete with other countries, Vietnamese goods need to meet the food safety and hygiene standards, as well as packaging requirements of the host country. It is expected that the import turnover of fruit and vegetables from Vietnam to Korea will continue to increase strongly throughout the year.
