In 2023, the cultivation of sugar beets in Ukraine is expected to increase to more than 220,000 hectares, up from 178,000 hectares in 2022, as per market operators. Despite a decrease in sowing areas in 2022, the yield improved to 50.2 tons per hectare, showing an increase of 3.9 tons from the previous year. The highest yields were reported in the Lviv, Ternopil, and Khmelnytskyi regions. Spring field work, planning to sow over 800,000 hectares, has already begun in the Ternopil region.
