Sumy region in Ukraine plans to produce its own pumpkin seed oil

The Trostyanets community of the Sumy region continues to work in the direction of public utilities. In the near future, it is planned to purchase a press for making oil from pumpkin seeds. “We will extend the pumpkin theme for 200 hectares of land. We want to buy an oil press,” commented Yuriy Bova, chairman of the Trostyanets community. The first experience of a communal pumpkin field was successful for the community. So, in 2021, the total amount of income amounted to UAH 4 million. The cost of all work on cultivating the field and harvesting the crop amounted to UAH 1.3 million, according to preliminary data.
