The increase in exports has led to a surplus in the market, resulting in lower prices. High-quality betel leaves, which fetched over 100,000 kyats per ten hours last year, now only fetch between 70,000 and 80,000 kyats. The wholesale price of betel leaves varies based on quality, ranging from 4,000 kyats to 8,000 kyats per pound.
