The consolidation of Peruvian passion fruit

The current condition of passion fruit in Peru is interesting. In the reports of the Association of Exporters (ADEX), it is mentioned that 11,922 tons of juice were exported, representing 67% of what was exported in 2023. The total exported amounts to 17,822 tons, with a FOB value of USD 66,932 million by 2023. “The remaining 50% of passion fruit production is marketed as fresh fruit for the domestic market,” says David Casanova Núñez-Melgar, general director of the Directorate of Agrarian Technological Development (DDTA) of the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA). “Passion fruit production in Peru has experienced fluctuations in recent years, influenced by various factors such as climate, market demand, and agricultural practices,” he added.
