Spain: The CSIC will send two varieties of extra-late flowering almond trees to Ukraine for their multiplication and cultivation

The Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) has signed a solidarity license agreement with the Ukrainian Nut Association, a Ukrainian public organization located in the city of Dnipro, for the multiplication and cultivation of the Penta and Makako almond varieties. These two varieties, obtained by the Group for the Improvement of Fruit Trees of the Center for Soil and Applied Biology of Segura (CEBAS) in Murcia, have extra-late flowering that makes them compatible with the cold climate of Ukraine. As a show of support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people, the CSIC will exempt the Ukrainian public association from any cost during the first 5 years, to facilitate the implantation of the varieties in this country.
