The Deputy Minister of Agriculture in Poland, Ryszard Bartosik, has expressed optimism about the continuation of high exports of Polish agri-food products to Great Britain despite Brexit. He emphasized the need for preparation for the changes in trade relations, effective from 2021, when the UK will be treated as an EU non-EU country, leading to the imposition of customs and other border controls. Despite the pandemic, trade between Poland and the UK has seen a 6% increase from January to August, reaching a value of 1.9 billion euros. The Chief Veterinary Officer, Bogdan Konopka, highlighted the UK as a significant market for Polish poultry, pork, beef, dairy products, and cheese, and anticipated the necessity for health certificates for exports to the UK from April 2021.
