In 2020, Hungary's domestic slaughterhouse production decreased by 1.2 percent to 1.6 million tons, with a decrease in cattle and poultry slaughters, but the number of pigs remained the same. Poultry accounted for 54 percent and pigs for 37 percent of the slaughters. Farm production of chicken eggs remained almost the same at 2.578 billion pieces. The production of cow's milk increased by 2.0 percent, reaching 1.949 billion liters in 2020, with a steady increase since 2010.
