In 2021, Almeria's agri-food and beverage exports reached a record high in value and commercial surplus, leading Andalusia and accounting for 28.1% of Andalusia's and 6% of Spain's total sales. The majority of these exports were vegetables, plants, roots, and food tubers, followed by fruit, live plants and floriculture products, seeds, and live animals. Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Italy were the leading buyers, with the UK seeing a significant increase. Almeria also led in fruit and vegetable exports at the national level, with sweet peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers being the main exports. However, the export value of spring crops and garlic fell compared to the previous year.
