The Peruvian company Amazonas Trading opens a subsidiary in Ecuador.

(Agraria.pe) Amazonas Trading is an exporting company of cocoa and chocolate, founded in 2006. The company has extensive experience in certified cocoa (both organic, fair trade, and Rainforest Alliance). The general manager of the company, José Antonio Mejía, pointed out that his company has 70 hectares of cocoa in San Martín. Additionally, they work with an integrated production chain consisting of around 3,800 cocoa producers from 8 regions to whom they buy their offer and expect to work with 4,500 producers next year. He detailed that Amazonas Trading exports 8,000 tons of cocoa beans per year for approximately US$ 70 million, with the main destination markets being Asian countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia.
