The Volgograd Region, Kazakhstan sees prospects in the cultivation of mustard

In the Volgograd Region, mustard crops doubled in the 2021 season. This oilseed crop was accounted for by 63 thousand hectares, considering it an excellent alternative to sunflower. As the practice of Volgograd farms shows, mustard is distinguished by its high drought resistance and yield. From 15 to 20 centners per hectare are harvested per hectare. According to the correspondent of "KazakhZerno.kz", the experience of growing mustard on the Volga lands has more than 200 years, and mustard oil has long been included in the local cuisine. Despite such a rich history, industrial production of culture is not very developed. One of the reasons is pricing: it should be beneficial for both the manufacturer and the processor. So far, such a balance has not always been achieved.
