As of September 1, Kazakhstan began the new marketing year with significant grain reserves from the previous harvest, amounting to 8.2 million tons of grain and legumes. This includes 6.4 million tons of food grain, predominantly wheat at 5.3 million tons. The largest reserves are located in the Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, and Akmola regions. Despite these substantial reserves, the final wheat reserves are deemed 'threatening' due to high domestic consumption and export demands, leaving an estimated 7.6 million tons as final reserves.
