Turkmenistan exports considerably more tomatoes

In 2022, Turkmenistan emerged as one of the leading exporters of tomatoes, shipping out 104,000 tons to Russia and other countries, marking a significant increase from the previous year. This surge propelled Turkmenistan to the top 4 positions among greenhouse tomato suppliers in Russia and established it as the primary provider to Tajikistan, with the first batch of tomatoes delivered in 2020. The country has dedicated 712 hectares of greenhouse space to the cultivation of greenhouse vegetables, with a strong focus on tomato production, which is possible throughout most of the year.
