In 2022, Ukrainian gardeners saw a significant increase in blueberry exports, with a record 2.5 thousand tons, marking a 1.5 times increase from the previous year. This achievement outpaces the 2019 record by 11%, despite the absence of exports to Belarus. Poland continued to be the primary importer of Ukrainian blueberries, followed by the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Moldova, all of which increased their import volumes. New markets for Ukrainian blueberries emerged in Spain, Germany, Georgia, and Finland. However, attempts to export to the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, and Singapore were unsuccessful due to transportation issues. Overall, agricultural imports to Ukraine saw a 22% decrease in the first 8 months of 2022, with fruits and berries being the largest category of imports.
