Ukraine has fully used Euro quotas on pork imports

For eight months of 2021, Ukrainian importers have fully used the quotas of duty-free import of pork from the European Union. This was reported by the press service of the Association of Pig Farmers of Ukraine. In previous years, quotas were exhausted closer to the end of the year - in November-December. As of September 1, 20,000 tons of chilled and frozen pork were imported to Ukraine from EU countries. “This corresponds to the volume of the quota for duty-free supply of pork from the countries of the European Community, established under the economic part of the Association Agreement. As these limits have been chosen this year, each additional kilogram of European chilled pork will cost importers 12% more due to customs duties, and frozen pork will rise in price by 10%, ”the statement said.
