Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and bird flu, the European Union imposed a ban on Ukrainian chicken, leading to a decrease in the quantity and value of sales of all major export items, except for sunflower oil. The European Union is the primary market for a variety of agricultural products from Ukraine, including fish and fish products, egg products, honey, fruits and berries, rapeseed, plant materials, soybean oil, pasta, canned tomatoes, juices, tea and coffee extracts and concentrates, and yeast. Ukraine exhausted the quotas for duty-free supplies to the EU of several products in 2020, including honey, apple and grape juice, sugar, barley groats and flour, canned tomatoes, processed starch, corn, poultry, eggs, and processed cereals and starch. In January 2021, Ukrainian companies fully used the quotas for honey and apple and grape juices.
