In March 2021, Brazil experienced a significant boost in its agricultural exports, with the sector seeing a 164.3% increase from the previous year, reaching US $ 17.5 million. The first quarter of 2021 also marked a 212.8% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2020, totaling US $ 48 million. Natural honey was the primary contributor to this growth, accounting for 93.6% of the total exports in March with a value of US $ 13.4 million. Beeswax also played a role, contributing US $ 1.1 million to the exports. The United States was the top buyer, accounting for 70.7% of the total sales, followed by the European Union, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Canada, collectively making up over 95% of the foreign sales. This performance is in line with the Agro.BR Project, a joint initiative by the CNA and Apex-Brasil, which aims to internationalize Brazilian agribusiness.
