Mexican Organic Mangoes Expected in January 2023 (Dec 21)
The Mexican mango season is forecasted to start in the third week of January 2023. Around January 20th is the expected start date for the Ataulfos variety, and Tommy Atkins will begin around February 10th-12th. The weather for the Mexican season has been good. The first and second blooms in Oaxaca and Chiapas had good fruiting, indicating a good yield. However, in recent weeks the region has been hit by heavy rains, affecting the second bloom.

Tommy Mango Prices React in the São Francisco Valley, Brazil (Dec 23)
The harvest of the Tommy mango variety is in the final stretch in the region of Monte Alto/Taquaritinga, with the forecast to end by the end of December 2022. As a result, prices are reacting in all harvesting areas. In W51, the price of Tommy mangos in the São Francisco Valley (PE/BA) ended with an average of USD 0.25/kg (BRL 1.30/kg), an increase of 64.3% compared to W50.
Colombia
First Container of Colombian Mango Set to Enter the American Market in W52 (Dec 22)
On December 22nd, the first container of Fresh Keitt Mango departed from Colombia to the United States with an estimated arrival on December 27th at the Savannah Port in Georgia State. This is the first fresh mango shipment after the phytosanitary agreement between the two countries.
Turkey
Alanya Farmers in Turkey Started Exporting Mangoes (Dec 20)
In the Turkish province of Alanya, preparatory work for mango cultivation began in 2014 on a land area of 7.4 hectares. In 2022, the annual production capacity was 65K tons. Most of the fruit was supplied to the domestic market, and only a small share of the crop was exported to Russia and Iran.
