The North Kazakhstan region in Russia has been importing around 16,000 young cattle from Europe and Ukraine over the last five years to boost its dairy industry. This year, over 1,800 heads of dairy breeds have already been received, including more than 120 Simmental and Holstein breeds from the Czech Republic. The region, which now has over 100 agricultural formations involved in milk production, has launched 30 dairy farms in the past five years, with 15 more under construction. ZHA GROUP LLP is planning to establish the region's first modern dairy complex, aided by a loan of 400 million tenge. The agricultural department also mentioned subsidies to reduce the cost of milk production and invest in dairy farm equipment.
