A hailfall on Monday in San Gabriel Chilac municipality has damaged around 300 hectares of crops, including zucchini, tomato, corn, and green tomato, leading to a total loss of these crops. The economic loss is estimated to be over two million pesos, including seed purchase, water irrigation, and land preparation costs. The municipality is working with rural development area personnel and the Secretary of National Defense to assess the damage. The mayor has reached out to state and rural development authorities seeking support to cover the costs of seeds and land preparation.
