In 2021, Mexico's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development allocated 643.7 million pesos in Zacatecas to support 65,351 producers of basic grains, chia, and honey through the Production for Wellbeing program. This marks the first time honey and chia producers have been included in the program. The program aims to increase sector productivity and provides liquidity to small and medium-scale producers through direct support for their productive activities, and also implements a Technical Support Strategy that promotes agroecological practices among beneficiaries.
