Catching crayfish during the ban is subject to penalties ranging from administrative fines to criminal liability, as well as compensation for losses caused to the fishery. Compensation for one illegally caught crayfish is UAH 3,332. After the ban ends, one person can catch 30 crayfish per day. For reference: River crayfish live from 15 to 20 years.
