Kamchatka is facing a chicken egg shortage due to a bird flu outbreak at the Pionerskoye poultry farm, resulting in the culling of chickens. To address this, three containers of eggs have been delivered, with prices set at 150 rubles per dozen in some retail chains, down from 300 rubles in smaller outlets where purchases were limited. The region plans to triple egg imports, aiming to bring in seven million eggs by December 2024, as per the directive of regional head Vladimir Solodov.
