From July 2022 to March 2023, Ukraine experienced a record high in frozen raspberry exports, with a 29% increase compared to the previous season, totaling 40.6 thousand tons. The first quarter of 2023 alone saw a 1.5 times increase in exports of frozen raspberries and blackberries, despite low offer prices in Europe. However, producers are now struggling to sell their stocks due to a downturn in the global frozen raspberry market. Meanwhile, Ukraine's berry plantation areas have seen expansion, even amidst the war, with forestry enterprises in the Khmelnytskyi region allocating land for vegetable and berry cultivation. Some cooperatives have shifted their focus from berry to vegetable production to support the population and ensure food availability.
