By Flávia Said Brasília, 09/09/2025 - The president of the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (Abiec), Roberto Perosa, stated that the focus of the sector is on Asia, due to the population increase in the countries of that continent and the demand for beef. He highlighted that the "great fear" of the United States is Brazil having authorization to send offal to Asia, where there is demand for these cuts of beef. "This is the strategy of the Brazilian beef industry, which is to sell the prime cuts that we consume here in the domestic market, everyone has access to the meat that we culturally like to eat, and the surplus and the meats that we are not in the habit of eating, we sell to countries that have this custom," he explained. "The more possibilities of selling offal to Asia, the more value addition we can achieve," he continued, saying it was not possible to estimate the value of the market.
