Afyonkarahisar, a city in Turkey, is a major contributor to the country's gherkin production, which is primarily used in pickle factories and then exported. The city produces gherkins on 14,600 decares of land and ranks second in Turkey for gherkin production, following Izmir. The gherkins are classified and then sent to other cities for processing into pickles, which are consumed domestically and exported to countries such as Czechia, Bulgaria, Poland, and Germany. The producer, Eşref Aydoğan, uses good agricultural practices and hopes the hot weather will increase the yield.
