The volume shipped abroad was 10.16 million tons. The trade balance had a surplus (positive balance) of US $ 4.4 billion. The main product on the export basket last month was raw cane sugar, which accounted for 9.5% of total foreign sales and reached revenues of US $ 537.1 million, an increase of 35.6% in relation to to the same period in 2020. The increase is justified by the fall in the sugarcane harvest in Thailand, Brazil's main competitor in the world market for this item.
