Agricultural organizations in Mordovia have increased livestock production

According to Rosstat data, in January-May 2025, large, medium, and small agricultural organizations in Mordovia produced 190.6 thousand tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight), which is 5.6% more than in 2024. In this indicator, the region ranks second in the Volga Federal District, second only to the Penza Region (196.1 thousand tons). In particular, 105.9 thousand tons of poultry for slaughter were produced (3.0% more than a year earlier), 75.5 thousand tons of pigs (8.2% more), and 9.2 thousand tons of cattle (16.9% more).

The volume of chicken egg production in the agricultural organizations of the republic amounted to 624.9 million eggs, exceeding last year's level by 7.0%. In this indicator, the region leads in the Volga Federal District.

Milk production reached 205.6 thousand tons — 3.9% more than a year earlier. In terms of gross milk yield, the republic ranked seventh in the Volga region: the top 3 included Tatarstan (691.7 thousand tons), Udmurtia (428.6 thousand tons), and the Kirov Region.
