The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey, Ayse Ayse' Işıkgün, discussed the increase in agricultural exports and revenue with the UK during a DEIK wabinar. The country also experienced a 12% increase in agricultural product harvest and a 20% rise in agricultural income. Işıkgün stated that Turkey's goal is to raise its organic agricultural product exports from $361 million in 2020 to $550 million. The webinar also highlighted the effective partnership between the ministry and retail chains during the pandemic, and the benefits of the digital agricultural market portal. Dominick Chilcott, the UK Ambassador to Ankara, emphasized the need for innovation in food production due to population growth and climate change, and discussed the potential for cooperation between Turkey and the UK in this field.
