The cost of a set of products for preparing a classic butter cake in major Russian retail chains in 2026 has decreased by 9% compared to 2025, reported TASS from the press service of the Association of Omnichannel Retail Companies (AKORT). "This year, a set of products for a classic butter cake will cost buyers 9% less than a year earlier," the report states. Thus, as of the beginning of April 2026, the cost of ingredients for preparing a cake according to a classic recipe, calculated for 6 servings in federal retail, has decreased to 148 rubles, AKORT said. The set of ingredients for a vegetable oil cake has also become cheaper - by 4%, to 48 rubles for a 300-gram cake. The recipe includes milk (125 ml), pressed yeast (15 g), granulated sugar (90 g), chicken eggs (2 pcs.), salt (1.5 g), vegetable oil (70 g), and wheat flour (350 g).
