Algeria has emerged as one of the top 20 importers of Brazilian beef in 2020, with acquisitions surging from nearly nothing in the previous year, as per the Brazilian Meatpacking Association (Abrafrigo). Brazil's beef exports experienced a significant 33.7% rise in volume and a 21% increase in revenue from January to September compared to the same period in 2019. The UAE also escalated its beef imports from Brazil by 162%, leading to a 168.3% increase in revenue. China remained the primary buyer of Brazilian beef, followed by the US, with Mexico and Turkey showing notable growth in imports. From January to September, Brazil exported 2.3 million tons of beef, earning US$ 9.39 billion. September saw a record in exports with a 30% increase, shipping 319 thousand tons and generating US$ 1.287 billion in revenue.
