REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Andi Amran Sulaiman issued a stern warning to slaughterhouses (RPH) and feedlots to not raise meat prices above the Highest Retail Price (HET) ahead of Chinese New Year, Nyepi, Ramadan, and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriyah. He emphasized that business licenses could be revoked if violations are found. This statement was made while leading the National Simultaneous Cheap Food Movement at the Ministry of Agriculture headquarters in Jakarta on Friday (13/2/2026). “If anyone raises prices, we will go after them all the way to the feedlots, the fatteners,” said Amran. He ensured that the crackdown would not stop at the trader level. Officials were instructed to trace back to the main suppliers and RPH operators.
