In the Aqsuat district of the Abay region, the livestock sector is actively developing. According to the regional press service of the akimat, by the end of 2025, there has been a significant increase in the number of farm animals, as reported by the regional agriculture department. According to the regional agricultural department, the number of cattle reached 129.1 thousand heads, which is 15% more compared to last year. The number of sheep and goats was 206.6 thousand heads, increasing by 4.8%. The number of horses reached 29.8 thousand heads, which is 4.3% higher than the previous year. As noted by the regional agricultural department, the development of breeding livestock in the region is a priority direction. In 2025, the number of farms engaged in breeding livestock reached 112, which is 16 more than in 2024. Currently, 75 farms specialize in breeding cattle, 32 in sheep, and 5 in horses.
