Turkiye: Anchovy season has started in the Black Sea, prices are affordable

With the end of the fishing ban in the BLACK SEA, the variety and abundance of fish on the stalls continues. Bonito, which was caught abundantly in the first weeks of the season in Trabzon, has given way to anchovy and other fish varieties. The anchovy, which is sold for 150 liras per kilo, has also reached a length of 12 centimeters. The general fishing ban for bottom trawling and purse seine nets, which started on April 15 in the seas, ended on September 1. Fishermen, who have completed their preparations for the new season in the Black Sea, set out to sea saying, "Vira bismillah". As the bonito season, which has been fruitful since the first weeks of the season, comes to an end, especially anchovy, horse mackerel, whiting, bluefish and sea bass have taken their place on the stalls.
