(Jeju=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Ho-cheon = Jeju's nonprofit organization, Mal Boho Center Mare Forest, which rescues and protects animals such as K-pop star Kara and retired racehorses, reported on the 29th that it has reported Jeju City's A Equestrian Center to the police for alleged violations of the Animal Protection Act and the Livestock Hygiene Management Act due to the illegal slaughter of horses.
According to Park Mi-rang, the director of Kara, between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM on the same day, a horse was illegally slaughtered at A Equestrian Center, and the police, who received a 112 report, confirmed the scene. The slaughterer fled.
Director Park explained, "The meat and by-products of the slaughtered horses are still left at the scene, and the police have cordoned off the area to preserve the evidence."
The police plan to investigate the detailed circumstances with the owner of A Equestrian Center.
