Tridge summary

[Rural Advancement Administration News=Reporter Lee Nam-jong] Cabbage is gaining attention once again as a health material with anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidative functions beyond being a simple ingredient. The Rural Development Administration's Agricultural Genetic Resources Center recently announced the results of a comprehensive analysis of the glucosinolate content and functionality of 93 cabbage genetic resources currently being preserved. Out of the total 93 resources, 3 varieties (IT100355, IT100353, IT100354) recorded glucosinolate content of over 21,000 μmol per kg, which is 4 to 7 times higher than commercial varieties. In particular, the representative components gluconapin and glucobrassicanapin showed anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory activity, confirming the potential for disease suppression. Additionally

Out of the total 93 resources, three varieties (IT100355, IT100353, IT100354) showed glucosinolate content of over 21,000 μmol per kg, which is 4 to 7 times higher than commercial varieties. In particular, the main components gluconapin and glucobrassicanapin exhibited anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory activities, confirming the potential for disease suppression. Additionally, molecular docking analysis revealed that glucosinolate compounds have a strong binding affinity with CDK2, MPO, and CP450 proteins, providing important clues for elucidating the physiological mechanisms that inhibit cancer cell growth and inflammatory responses. This study was published in the international academic journal Scientia Horticulturae. The Rural Development ...
