In 2021, Serbia achieved a record fruit export revenue of €824 million, with apples being the primary export, and raspberries the most profitable. The first quarter of 2022 saw a 24% increase in fruit exports compared to the same period in 2021, generating €256 million from raspberry exports alone. Other profitable exports include blackberries and cherries. The demand for Serbian fruit remains strong, with the country entering new markets such as Egypt, India, and Indonesia. The war in Ukraine has slightly impacted these exports, with some rerouting through Belarus and Estonia to reach Russia, Serbia's largest apple market. Strawberries, despite being challenging to grow, are a popular export product, with high demand in Germany, Belgium, and France, due to their superior quality.
