The tomato rugose virus has been detected in the fruit and vegetable area of Luján in Buenos Aires, prompting Senasa to implement precautionary measures such as isolation and hygiene protocols. Senasa had previously declared a phytosanitary alert nationwide for the disease in July, aiming to prevent its spread and ensure food security in tomato production. Senasa, along with INTA and INASE, has formed an inter-institutional crisis committee to enhance monitoring and prevention efforts against the virus.
