The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange has increased its forecast for Argentina's 2024/25 sunflower crop to a record 4.7 million tons, a 22% increase from the previous season and higher than the USDA forecast. The forecast has been raised for the second week in a row due to larger plantings and higher yields. Argentina is the third largest global exporter of sunflower oil. The adjustment of forecasts will change the global balance and lead to a drop in sunflower oil prices in May-June.
