Argentina’s sunseed harvest in the 2024/25 season will be a record 4.7 million tons

The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange has updated its forecast for Argentina's 2024/25 sunflower seed production to a record 4.7 million tons, up by 200,000 tons from earlier estimates due to unexpectedly large plantings. As a major exporter of sunflower oil, Argentina's revised production figures surpass the USDA's previous forecast of 4.2 million tons, with expected sunflower oil exports of 1.15 million tons for the season. The current FOB prices for Argentine sunflower oil have risen by $15 over the week, ranging between $1,115 and $1,125.
