Extenda, a public agency for foreign promotion, is focusing on Asia and America to diversify the Andalusian Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) market. The agency promoted the presence of Andalusian EVOO at the World Olive Oil Exhibition in Madrid and organized a reverse mission for importers from ten markets to visit oil mills and taste extra virgin olive oil. The goal is to increase international trade of EVOO, open new markets, promote sustainability, and increase awareness of the health benefits of extra virgin olive oil. The United States is the top consumer of olive oil outside the European Union, with more consumers incorporating it into their diet for health reasons.
