The enterprise "Agro firm Pivdennaya", which is part of the Tekom Agro Group, has started sowing sunflowers. The farm operates in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, where climatic conditions require a special approach to planning work. Director of the farm Oleksii Lohinov noted that due to working in a risky farming zone, the enterprise is forced to respond to moisture shortages. "We work in a risky farming zone. In the Budzhak steppes of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, there are always intensified droughts and minimal precipitation, and accordingly, critically low soil moisture levels. So we are forced to adjust the area under various crops, considering the sharp changes in climate," explained the manager. Due to these factors, the area under sunflowers this year has been reduced by almost 250 hectares compared to last season. Only 480 hectares are planned to be sown for the 2026 harvest.
