The leader of Aloef, Nicolás Laenen, reported that a restructuring will be carried out: the plant will no longer operate with more than 500 people, so around 100 workers will be laid off. He explained that there was previously an excess of personnel relative to the number of animals slaughtered.
At the beginning of November, the unemployment insurance and health coverage were renewed. Laenen indicated that the workers are seeking to agree on a payment plan for licenses and avoid the interruption of benefits next January.
