Scientists from the All-Russian State Center for Quality and Standardization of Veterinary Medicinal Products and Feed (FGBU "VGNKI," belonging to Rosselkhoznadzor – ROSNG) have developed a methodology for determining the residual content of two veterinary drugs in livestock products. This is reported by "Veterinariya i Zhizn" with reference to the press service of the scientific institution. We are talking about coccidiostats and nitroimidazoles. To recall, the first of these are veterinary drugs that suppress the life activity of coccidia—pathogenic bacteria that parasitize in the renal pelvis, the intestinal mucosa epithelium, and the bile ducts of the liver in birds, rodents, and ungulates. The second group of veterinary drugs are synthetic broad-spectrum antimicrobial drugs used to combat anaerobic bacteria and protozoan infection agents.
