Australian goatmeat exports have reached a record high of 46,939 tonnes in 2024, surpassing the previous record of 35,778 tonnes in 2014. The United States is the largest market, accounting for 54% of all exports. Other top markets include South Korea, Mainland China, Taiwan, and Canada. The majority of the exported goatmeat is frozen. Slaughter numbers have also reached an all-time high of 74,226 goats in August, with steady numbers thereafter. MLA and AgriFutures have relaunched a mohair production module to help new producers or those looking to add mohair goats to their business.
