According to a survey by the IBGE cited by the secretariat, the 2025 crop reached 183 thousand tons, with an area cultivated around 6.5 thousand hectares. "In years of higher production, the tomato chain reaches almost R$ 1 billion in the state's economy," informed the secretariat. The production is concentrated in localities with the use of irrigation technology and altitude conditions, such as the Chapada Diamantina and the North Piedmont of the Itapicuru.
